Jack Mohr and I discuss market news and a disturbing survey about Americans who are not investing properly in their retirement.
Jack Mohr (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust) is back on the show as we discuss Apple’s success in iPhone sales in China, Alibaba’s huge increase in revenue, reasons for Twitter’s stalled user growth and other market news. I equate the Chinese market to gambling and stress buying stock in quality companies. Advice on keeping your financial advisor and custodian separate to protect your assets. I also talk about a survey that shows many Americans hold 65% of their net worth in cash instead of investments and how this is hurting their retirement plans. Things you need to do now to be ready for taxes next April and big changes in FAFSA.

I rant regarding the sneaky increase in Medicare Part B costs for many retirees and I go through my 666 list.
How to pass down money to young people without allowing them to make irresponsible decisions. I express my frustration with with Social Security hold-harmless rule which may cause Medicare Part B premium costs to increase for those signing up for the first time in 2016 or those delaying or suspending social security. Keeping in the holiday spirit I go through my 666 list:

Everyone seems to be distracted today thanks to technology and so much noise online. Fortunately Ben Parr, author of "Captivology: The Science of Catching People's Attention" was able to do just that with Kym. He has the secrets to capturing the attention of customers, partners, investors and more. He explains the tiers of gathering people's attention being similar to a fire from ignition to kindling to bonfire, why his book is not a how-to for self-promoters, and how violating expectations of your customers might just be your key to success. Ben and Kym also respond to several callers:

Since October is breast cancer awareness month Kym chats with Othman Laraki, who with his partner Elad Gil, want to make genetic testing more accessible and affordable to everyone. His kit which involves a quick saliva test takes testing costs from $4000 to $250 dollars, just 1/16th the price. Othman explains how combining computer science with biology has contributed to the drop in price and he also discusses how they're marketing this idea to physicians and insurance companies. Kym asks him about testing children when a parent is a known carrier and plans for future types of testing. Kym also asks Othman about his past at Twitter and secrets for helping companies grow as quickly and strongly as Twitter did while he was there.
