She chats with the owners of several companies that are disrupting the travel space. First up is Jeff Potter from Surf Air, a subscription based airline with unlimited private flights. Kym then talks with Michael Harmell from MiFlight, an app that alerts you to airport security wait times. Today Kym interviews Phil McKinney, the former Chief Technology Officer for Hewlett-Packard and current President and CEO of Cable Labs. She begins by finding out about the profound influence the Boy Scouts program has had on his life and why he still credits them for much of his success today. Phil then tells Kym about his decision to switch his studies from architecture to computer graphics before dropping out of college; and how a random phone call for a job interview ultimately led Phil to Silicon Valley and Hewlett-Packard. Phil is a big believer in engaging with his customers and shares a story about spending his weekends at electronics stores that proves real data doesn’t come from third party researches and boardrooms. Kym then asks Phil how a family friend got him and his wife involved in a charity for Rwanda before telling Kym about his own big announcement, Pioneer.Education.

Bill Barhydt joins Kym in studio today as they talk about Abra, Bill’s revolutionary money transfer and payment banking app. Kym learns about Bill’s rather odd journey which begins with wanting to pursue a career with animation and computer graphics.
