Today Kym is joined by Tynker founder and CEO Krishna Vedati to discuss the importance of teaching children to code.
Kym and Krishna discuss Tynker, a program that teaches kids the fundamentals of coding and programming by making their own video game. Krishna tells Kym why he is part of Hour of Code, a movement that encourages schools to have children practice code one hour a day. George Gallegos of Jitterbit calls in and explains why kids still need to learn programming even when his app simplifies programming down to drag and drop. A student at Princeton asks Krishna how she can get ahead before she takes her first coding class. Krishna tells Kym why he felt the need to develop Tynker, the problems he faced designing the program and where he wants to take the company next.
